When is the best time of year to climb Mount Kenya?

Best Time To Climbing Mount Kenya
The optimal trekking seasons are during the spring months of March to May and the autumn months of September to November. During these periods, the weather is generally clear and stable, with moderate temperatures and minimal rainfall, ensuring safer trekking conditions and breathtaking visibility.
“The best view comes after the hardest climb.”

Finding The Best Time
Although climbing Mount Kenya can be done all year round, the highest rainfall occurs between late March and the middle of May. Rain and, higher up, snow can however be encountered at any time of year – even in the driest periods (January and February). Normally the drier seasons are associated with clear, dry weather which can last for many days on end. The best weather is generally in the mornings, and convectional rainfall, if any, tends to come in the mid-afternoon. The best months and safest time to climb Mt. Kenya is during the dry seasons: January – February, and June to December away from the most reliably fine weather.
